Stir Crazy....

This is what the crazy-cold weather will do to a stay-at-home Mom~ Do you know what I did today?  I took all the silverware out of the red plastic silverware tray and loaded them into the dishwasher for a nice scrubbing and then cleaned the tray.  All those little crumbs and miscellaneous unknowns.....banished.  Yes, I know.  Earth-shattering news from the O.C.D. cleaning freak.  But really, it's not me.  It's the weather.  I can't say, "Forget the fine tuning of the house today.  Instead I will take the kids to the park and enjoy the sunshine."  I am literally making up projects here people!  (This is what a freak show like me does when I'm bored or stuck in the house)  The only thing that would have made it so much better would have been some tunes cranked and my mom, sister and aunt with me. (and maybe a cocktail thrown in for good measure)  I come from a long line of fellow freak show cleaners, organizers and O.C.Der's.  So when we get together it's not unusual to delve into some random house project.  In fact, I did this little silverware gig today to honor them!  They would have jumped all over this one!

There are many projects around this house that have been tackled by my mother.  And never repeated by me again!  1. linen closet re-haul  2. crystal in the buffet  3. drawers in the buffet containing table linens  4. glass in the transoms (transom being the glass above a door for those of you who don't know)  Being stuck in the house with a 3-year old and a newborn whom I was breastfeeding at the time brought out the best in my mom's wicked ability to pull a project out of her arse for us to work on.  Ah, I remember the 2008 winter with fondness.  Everything is better with a buddy.  Even breastfeeding!

So this winter is really getting to me.  I don't even mind the cold so much.  As a native Midwestern gal, I can handle the cold and I'm not too proud to cover my head.  (that's the key really.....a hat makes you happy in this cold)  It's just the lugging around of two kids and the in and out of the car....that gets to me.  I just want to go for a walk or a run.  I love Jillian, but I'm over the work-out DVDs.

Embrace the season... Well, what choice do we have?  And I won't even get into the amount of spray painting that has taken place on this crazy-train of a winter.  Yesterday I used a mini can of hot pink and a mini can of black.  Please send help!!!!!!!
